BMW 2016 X1 Locally Assembled At Chennai Facility Rolls Out
BMW India has rolled out its very first locally assembled 2016 X1 SUV. The all-new SUV was assembled at BMW's facility in Chennai. Previously the vehicle was revealed and confirmed to launch in India at the 2016 Auto Expo in Delhi.
Three variants of the all-new BMW X1 is available in India. The Expedition, xLine, and M Sport are the variants on offer by BMW in the Indian market. The base variant of 2016 X1 will cost Rs. 29.9 lakh ex-showroom (India).
2016 BMW X1 is longer and lighter compared to its predecessor. Major improvements have been carried out to the boot space. BMW engineers have managed to provide occupants with more room within the cabin. New X1 also looks more premium and SUV-like than the earlier model.
Powering the all-new BMW X1 is a 2.0-litre TwinPower Turbo diesel engine. The engine will produce 187.40bhp, along with 400Nm of peak torque. So far, there is no petrol powered engine on offer and is expected to be launched by BMW India within this year.
