Domestic Car Sales See An Increase In July: Full Report
Domestic car sales has seen an increase in July 2016. Auto makers have recorded 9.26 percent increase in sales, which translates to 1,77,604 unit sold in July, compared to 1,62,022 units sold during the same time last year.
According to sales figures released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), motorcycles have had an increase in sales as well. The motorcycle market saw 8.97,092 units being sold in July 2016, compared to selling 8,08,332 units during the same time last year.
The total two-wheeler sales has seen an increase of 13.52 percent. In July 2016, two-wheelers as a whole sold 14,76,340 units compared to 13,00,457 units sold during the same time last year.
Commercial vehicles also saw a marginal increase in sales. The total number of vehicles sold across categories registered a growth of 13.22 percent, translating to 18,33,976 units in July 2016.
