Audi Renames The Quattro Division To Audi Sport — 8 New Cars On The Way
Audi believes the new name clearly describe the division's function in the company
Audi has announced that its Quattro GmbH performance and technology division will be renamed Audi Sport GmbH. This is the first time the company has changed the division's names since its introduction in 1983.
The company believes the new name clearly describe the division's function in the company and avoid the confusion with the Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
Audi Sport will be handling the R8 sports car, the RS line-up, customer racecars, customised road cars, and Audi Sport lifestyle products.
Apart from the name change, the company has also announced that the performance division will be releasing eight new cars over the next 18 months.
Even though the company haven't revealed much about the upcoming cars, but they did mention which cars will be falling under Audi Sport division.
The cars that now belong to the Audi Sport division will be the RS 3, RS Q3, RS 6, RS 7, TT RS, R8 and the S8 plus.
