Audi has long been teasing its fans about an all-new entry level SUV for global markets. Now the new model is expected to make its debut at the upcoming 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The German automobile manufacturer in its recent teaser promises that a smaller model is coming soon.
The Q1 is expected to make its first public appearance at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. Audi's all-new entry level SUV is expected to go on sale in the European markets by 2016-end or early 2017. With the new Q1, Audi is expected to enter several new and unexplored markets as well.
Powering the Audi Q1 will be an array of engine options. Based on market conditions a 2.0-litre TDI and a three-cylinder diesel engine will be on offer. The petrol powered Q1 will have an option between a 1.8-litre TSI and a 1.4-litre TSI engine.
Currently, the Q3 SUV is the smallest and most affordable Audi model in its SUV range. The new Q1 will be even more affordable and will be targeted at young SUV buyers around the world. Audi will provide the new Q1 with similar SUV styling to maintain familiarity.
The Audi Q1 will be the German manufacturer's most affordable SUV offering. The engineers will maintain the premium and exclusive features which are synonymous with Audi vehicles. Pricing will be a major factor in the success of the Q1 and there is a possibility that it could be assembled in India.
