Audi AG Opens New Manufacturing Plant In Mexico
Audi
is
expanding
its
worldwide
production
network
and
continues
in
the
path
of
global
growth.
This
Friday
Audi
has
opened
firm's
very
first
manufacturing
plant
in
South
American
continent.
The new plan is located in San José Chiapa in Mexico's federal state of Puebla. The all-new Audi Q5 will be manufactured in this facility, with a capacity of producing of approximately 1,50,000 premium SUV's per year.
By the end of this year, 4,200 jobs will be created for the local people by Audi Mexico.This is the first premium automobile facility in Mexico.
The manufacturing facility is equipped with state of the art technology. Which includes press shop, body shop, paint shop and assembly line spread around 988 acres of land.
A supplier park has also been set-up. Seven suppliers and logistics partners have already started operating. Audi also supports the local in the region by hiring more than 3,300 employees on board. The company will train the employees to improve their skill levels through their tailored training courses.
Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi AG, Rupert Stadler said, "The plant in Mexico is a milestone in the history of our company and an important step in our Internationalization. It is one of the most modern factories on the American continent. With this facility, we have established an important site for the export of our automobiles to customers all over the world."
