Audi Looking To Rival Longer Mercedes S-Class Maybach And Pullman
German Luxury carmaker Audi could bring out more variants of its flagship A8 luxury to rival the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
Mercedes currently have 6 different variants of the S-Class on sale including the extremely long Maybach and Pullman variants as well as coupe and convertible variants.
According to Auto Express, Dr Stefan Knirsch, a member of the Board of Audi and the new boss for technical development confirmed that Audi were looking into longer variants of the A8. Speaking to journalists at the launch of the SQ7, Dr. Knirsch said, "We are thinking about it. The success of the extra-long version of the S-Class has got us wondering about whether there could be a business case for that in the future."
Audi had earlier unveiled a 6-door version of the A8 called the A8L Extended, which was apparently commissioned for the King of Norway.
