Audi has imported a single unit of the 2017 A5 Sportback, and an S5 to India. A search on Zauba.com reveals that the models have been imported to the country for homologation purposes.
The company had just revealed the A5 and S5 Sportback through official images and was planning to debut the car at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.
The import data further suggest that the A5 Sportback imported into India is in the 35 TDI trim which is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns out 187Bhp and 400Nm peak torque. Audi will be offering the 7-speed S-Tronic gearbox on the A5.
The S trim of the A5 Sportback will be offered with a 3.0-litre, petrol, V6 engine, capable of producing 349Bhp and 500Nm of peak torque. The S5 is expected to be offered with an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
Since Audi has already imported the cars to India before their world debut, we hope the company to plan the India launch soon after its global unveil.
