Audi has unveiled the 2017 A5 Sportback and S5 Sportback ahead of the models official launch at Paris Motor Show next month. Audi A5 Sportback is almost identical to the two door version of A5 and front end features the Audi's signature front grille.
Compared to the previous version of A5, there are plenty of work done on design of headlamps, hood and rear. A5 Sportback is based on the same MLB platform, but the car has been lengthened to 2,824mm to fit in the rear doors and additional legroom.
Coming to the powertrains, the A5 Sportback series will be offered with same engines as the coupe version. The entry level model, which is named as g-tron is powered by 2-litre TFSI engine producing 167bhp and 270Nm of torque. It is also available in two other variants with same engine but tuned to produce 187bhp/320Nm and 248bhp/370Nm respectively.
The 2017 S5 Sportback petrol model comes with 3-litre TFSI engine producing 348bhp and 500Nm of torque. In diesel department there are four variants, 2-litre TDI and 2-litre TDI Ultra pumps out 187bhp and 400Nm of torque. 3-litre TDI comes in two power bands, 214bhp/400Nm and 281bhp/620Nm respectively.
Both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive are available depending on engine specification. A5 Sportback shares the same features as A5 Coupe. One major change to A5 Sportback is the addition of advanced Stop and Go cruise control system. A5 Sportback is priced in the range of 37,800 euros(Approximately Rs 28 lakh) to 62,500 euros (Approximately Rs 46 lakh).
