Aston Martin Launches 2017 V12 Vantage S With New Manual Gearbox
Aston Martin has launched the 2017 V12 Vantage S. Prices for the new British sports car start at £138,000.
The biggest change in the new V12 Vantage S is the return of the manual gearbox. A few years after it abandoned the 6-speed gearbox, the 2017 V12 Vantage S now comes with a 7-speed manual gearbox.
The new gearbox has a dog leg configuration which means you will have to shift the gear stick to the left and then down to engage first gear.
The new gearbox also comes with what Aston Martin call AMSHIFT which helps make downshifts smoother by blipping the throttle to help match the revs. It also facilitates full-throttle upshifts.
The 6.0-litre V12 engine remains unchanged, still producing 563bhp and 620Nm. This is enough to propel the 2017 V12 Vantage to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 330km/h.
Deliveries for the new Aston Martin V12 Vantage are scheduled to begin during the third quarter of 2016.
