The Aston Martin Hypercar will feature a new, mid-mounted naturally aspirated V12 engine with a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1. The manufacturer also claimed that AM-RB 001 will deliver an incredible 4.5Gs of lateral cornering and is very much capable of rivalling a Formula One car around a track.
Marek Reichman, Chief Creative Officer and Design Director, Aston Martin, recently announced that the AM-RB 001 can attain a top-speed of 402 km/h. He also said that the V12 engine will displace between 6.0- and 7.0-litres, which revs to 9500rpm.
The powerplant will be mated to a single-clutch sequential gearbox which will be made by Xtrac. The Xtrac also supplies gearboxes for the Aston's race cars.
The hypercar will be made at Gaydon and everything about the car is new. Earlier, this purpose-built facility has created Aston Martin's absolutely astonishing hypercar, the One-77. Sadly, the automaker will only produce 150 units and interestingly, the number of orders is four times than that.
The British manufacturer is also developing a track-only variation of the hypercar. The projected performance of the racing AM-RB 001 will be on par with the LMP1 Le Mans sports prototypes. The delivery of the Aston Martin AM-RB 001 will begin in 2018.
