Maruti Suzuki Is Developing An All-New Small Car For 2017
Maruti Suzuki has an array of products on offer in the Indian market. Several of their products are top sellers within their respective categories. The Alto 800 has been one of Maruti Suzuki's popular products since its inception.
Now, Maruti Suzuki plans on updating its Alto 800 to compete with new rivals in the Indian market. An all-new Alto 800 is expected to be introduced in India by 2017-end. Maruti Suzuki will launch the new hatchback sometime during early 2018.
Renault Kwid and Datsun redi-GO have gained an overwhelming response in India. Both products have eaten into the sales of Maruti Suzuki Alto 800. An all-new Alto 800 is in the making to counter the popularity witnessed by redi-GO and the Kwid in India.
Indian market is most likely to receive the Alto 800 that is currently offered in the Japanese market. The design will be extremely similar to the Alto offered in Japan with minor tweaks. Several new features will be bundled to make the all-new Alto 800 an irresistible purchase in its segment.
Under the hood of all-new Alto 800, Maruti Suzuki is unlikely to make any radical changes. The Alto will continue to be offered with an 800cc and 1.0-litre K-Series petrol engine. Both engines are mated to 5-speed manual transmission with an AMT option on the 1.0-litre engine.
