One More SUV On The Cards — This Time It's Alfa Romeo
The Italian car manufacturer, Alfa Romeo is readying a new compact luxury crossover SUV for the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show. The carmaker has named it the 'Stelvio". The name is derived from the famous Stelvio Pass, a mountain pass in northern Italy.
The pass is clearly considered by many as one of the greatest driving roads in the world. So, we can expect the new SUV from Alfa Romeo to be quite sporty and a good overall performer.
The Stelvio is Alfa's first production SUV and it uses a stepped up version of the Giorgio platform shared with the Giulia, the carmaker's sports sedan.
The powerplant is the same unit used in the Giulia, which is a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6. Alfa claims that despite having good handling dynamics, it will also be functional and useful.
The Stelvio will clearly be a competition for the Porsche Macan, Jaguar F-Pace, and BMW X4. Alfa is very ready to make a mark in the SUV class.
The only way to find out more about the Stelvio is to keep calm and wait for the debut in LA this November.
