AC Schnitzer's Manic 562bhp ACL2 Is A BMW 235i On Steroids
Germany's lunatic BMW tuning house AC Shnitzer are at it again. They've taken a perefectly sensible BMW235i and turned it into a mean, green machine that the Hulk would love to use as his daily driver.
The angry green machine is called the AC Schnitzer ACL2 and to create it AC Schnitzer have swapped quite a few bits with those from the M4 as well as added on some custom bits of their own.
The biggest change is the engine. The 235i's turbo six has been replaced by the 3-litre turbocharged straight six from the M4. However, AC Shnitzer have added on a new ECU, a carbon fibre intake along with their own custom sports exhaust to make a car that produces 562bhp and 740Nm of torque. 0–100km/h takes 3.9 seconds and the sprint to 200km/h takes 10.9seconds and the top speed is 330km/h.
The ACL2 borrows the M4's axles along with the carbon strut braces which it pairs up with its own custom height-adjustable AC Schnitzer Clubsport suspension and new support bearings. The ACL2 features a lot of carbon fibre pieces including the bonnet, front skirt, rear diffusor and spoiler.
The interior of the car features green leather, carbon fibre bucket seats with green inserts and the stitching is in green as well. The pedals, foot rest and the top of the gearknob are all aluminium.
AC Schnitzer states that the ACL2 is a one-off tecnology demonstrator and will not be sold. However, in its current form the ACL2 is valued at €149,000.
The AC Shnitzer ACL2 will be officially unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
