2017 Skoda Rapid Bookings Begin In India
The Skoda Rapid facelift is all set to launch in India on November 3, 2016. Skoda dealerships have already started accepting bookings with a token amount of Rs 25,000.
Skoda is all geared for the launch of the Rapid facelift in India on November 3, 2016. Skoda dealerships have already started accepting bookings with a token amount of Rs 25,000.
The earlier prototype model which had revealed the new headlight design, now the new clear shots of the car reveals the new radiator grille which is identical to the current generation Skoda Octavia.
The front end of the new Rapid is similar to that of the European version of the Skoda Fabia. It features projector headlights and DRL's in top-end models.
The other notable changes to the new Rapid are the redesigned front bumper with the wider profile and the new fog lamp housing.
The interior is also expected to be overhauled by using more premium materials in the trim. The test mule was spotted with a touchscreen infotainment system which is seen on the Volkswagen Vento.
The 2017 Skoda Rapid will be powered by the same 1.6-litre TSI petrol engine which produces 104bhp and 153Nm of torque. The petrol variant will be offered with an option of five-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox.
The diesel variant of the Rapid facelift will come with an updated 1.5-litre diesel engine which made its debut in the Ameo. It churns out 108bhp and 250Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to be similar to that of Ameo.
When launched the Skoda Rapid facelift will go head on with the likes of Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Hyundai Verna and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
