Renault has officially revealed an image of its upcoming premium SUV model. The 2017 Koleos will be making its global debut at the upcoming Beijing Motor Show. All-new Koleos will then be showcased at Geneva Motor Show followed by its global launch.
2017 Renault Koleos will be based on the Nissan X-Trail SUV model. Renault-Nissan Alliance will be providing the new Koleos with its CMF (Common Module Family) platform. Wheelbase for both SUVs will be the same, however, expect the Koleos to be taller, wider, and longer compared to the outgoing model.
China is expected to get an option between two petrol engines. All-new Koleos will be equipped with a 2.0-litre and an optional 2.5-litre, four-cylinder engine, which is mated to an optional 6-speed manual and automatic transmission, with FWD and AWD options too.
For China, the 2017 Koleos will be locally manufactured. Renault-Nissan Alliance has entered into a joint-venture with Dongfeng to locally produce models. Other countries will receive the new Koleos as an import model from Renault's facility in South Korea.
Currently, Renault offers the Koleos in India at a price of Rs. 23.48 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi). So far, there is now news if the French-based manufacturer will be replacing current-gen Koleos in India as well. Stay tuned for more updates from Renault and its upcoming launches.
