New Maruti Suzuki Swift Photo Without Camouflage Leaked
Many spy pictures and rendering of the new Maruti Swift have surfaced online; however, this photo without the camouflage reveals the design of the fourth generation hatchback
The third generation Maruti Suzuki Swift is six years old and the company is working on the new generation small hatchback which is expected to be launched in 2017. Now, a photo of the new Maruti Swift without camouflage has been leaked.
The image of the new Maruti Swift reveals a much sharper and angular looking design language. The hexagonal front grille is the first thing that you notice. The headlights sport LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) and probably even the taillights should feature the LED lighting.
Suzuki has designed the new Swift with a snout looking front profile much akin to the Jaguar I-Pace. The new Swift is much longer and wider and the interior is expected to be overhauled as well.
Some of the spy pics revealed a flat-bottomed steering wheel, TFT screen for the driver information display and a touch screen infotainment system.
Maruti Suzuki is expected to feature some of the current technology on the new Swift such as automatic climate control, navigation, connectivity and parking assistance via a camera.
The new Swift for India could have the same powertrain of 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre diesel engine. However, the next-generation Swift is expected to be equipped with the Smart Hybrid Vehicle from Suzuki (SHVS) which will add to the choice of engines offered on the small hatchback.
In the spy pics of the pre-production model revealed that Suzuki had equipped the new Swift with a differential integrated into the rear axle.
This suggests that the new Swift might feature the all-wheel-drive (AWD), but this might not make it to the Indian market.
