2017 Land Rover Discovery Seats Goes Intelligent [Video]
The upcoming 2017 Land Rover Discovery is taking technology to the next level with the world's first 'Intelligent Seat Fold-Tech'. The new technology allows owners to adjust the seat on their new Discovery remotely from anywhere in the world.
This is achieved by using the InControl Remote app on your smartphone, you can change the settings of the two rear rows of seating of the new Discovery in under 14 seconds. This removes the need to manually fold or unfold the seats on the 2017 Land Rover Discovery.
The outgoing Land Rover Discovery had seven seating layout which has been carried to the new 2017 Discovery with a three-seat middle bench and two seats in the boot space. In the standard settings, the third-row seats are folded to the boot floor.
Land Rover's new technology will allow these seats and the those in the middle to be fully reclined or upright with just a touch of a button. The same feature can be adjusted or controlled using switches within the luggage area and on the C-pillar or can be used via the main touchscreen display on the dashboard of the new Discovery.
To highlight and demonstrate the effectiveness and the remote ability of the technology, Land Rover has sought the services of adventurer Bear Grylls. Bear Grylls demonstrates the ‘Intelligent Seat Fold Technology' by 201km/h free fall when he jumped from a plane with six members from the Royal Navy Parachute Display Team.
