2017 Ford EcoSport Was Not Ready For The 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show
The 2017 Ford EcoSport was missing in the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show. Sources stated that the SUV was not ready for the auto show.
The 2017 Ford EcoSport which is the facelifted version of the currently sold EcoSport was supposed to be showcased at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show. Bu the new compact SUV was missing in the Ford booth at the auto show.
According to sources, the 2017 facelifted Ford EcoSport was not ready for the auto show. It was a missed opportunity for US car maker as other manufacturers showcased their products in the compact SUV segment.
Hyundai has revealed its Creta facelift and Honda HR-V was also showcased at the Sao Paulo Auto Show. Ford could have countered these models if the EcoSport facelift had been unveiled.
The 2017 Ford EcoSport was being tested in the Brazilian conditions from March 2016 and a Fiesta-based crossover is also being tested in the USA, China and Europe.
The Ford EcoSport received major updates in 2015 after the launch edition was not so successful for the Blue Oval in Europe.
The 2016 Ford EcoSport featured a cleaner rear fascia, improved ride and handling, powerful engine, updated interior and infotainment system. Although it was not a facelift model.
The 2017 Ford EcoSport will feature new dashboard with SYNC3 infotainment, updated steering wheel, four-wheel-drive variants and new exterior looks.
The 2017 EcoSport will be powered by 1.5-litre three-cylinder ‘Dragon' naturally aspirated engine. We have to wait for the official statement from Ford to know if this new unit will make it to India.
The 2017 facelifted EcoSport will be also available in the US market and the units will be exported from the Indian manufacturing facility. As far as the auto show was concerned, instead of the EcoSport, Ford showcased its Ka Trail edition.
