2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift Could Feature Four-Wheel Drive System
Ford is getting to launch the facelift version of the EcoSport and is expected to be launched early 2017 with modern features
Ford is all set to reveal the facelift version of the popular EcoSport in Brazil later this year and is expected to go on sales by early 2017.
The 2017 Ford EcoSport will see it inherit the muscular lines of the Kuga and Edge models. According to Autocar UK, Jeremy Schofield, manager of SUV communications at Ford said that the new facelift EcoSport will gain a similar face as its larger siblings.
He further added that the nearly 15 percent B-spec SUVs are four-wheel drives and even though its small but a significant proportion.
If Ford does offer the four-wheel drive option of the 2017 EcoSport, it will be seen in the most potent engine or engines.
However, all the markets where the new facelifted EcoSport will be sold, the small SUV will inherit Ford's Sync 3 infotainment technology. All small models of Ford will adopt the system from 2017 onwards.
Most probably, the 2017 Ford EcoSport will continue to get the current line-up of powertrains - 1.0-litre three cylinder EcoBoost engine, 1.5-litre four cylinder petrol and the 1.5-litre four cylinder diesel engine.
The four-wheel drive will be an option and depending on the market, Ford will add to the EcoSport and it will be on the top spec model.
The current generation EcoSport in India is facing stiff competition with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki's Vitara Brezza. The facelift model could encourage buyers in India to opt for the off-road capable 2017 EcoSport.
Also, the Sync 3 infotainment technology is the latest technology from Ford and this will be an added benefit on the new EcoSport.
