Porsche To Bring 2.0-litre Macan To India
German luxury carmaker Porsche is planning to launch the entry-level variant of its smaller SUV, the Macan, in India soon.
The entry level Porsche Macan is powered by the smallest engine in the Porsche range, a 1,984cc, 4-cylinder turbocharged powerplant.
The miniscule (for a Porsche), 2-litre turbocharged engine produces 248bhp and 370Nm of torque, all of which is sent to all four wheels through a 7-speed PDK automatic gearbox.
The 2.0-litre Macan can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 6.7 seconds and the SUV tops out at 229km/h. The Macan returns a mileage of 13.5km/l.
The new variant of the Macan will slot in under the price range of the current Macan range on sale in India to make it appeal more to Indian buyers who prefer buying the Cayenne SUV which starts at around the same price as the current Macan range.
The 2-litre Macan is expected to be price at around Rs. 97-98 lakhs ex-showroom (Delhi) when it hits Indian roads.
