Volvo XC90 SUV Witnesses Tremendous Demand Prior To Launch
Swedish automobile manufacturer had recently showcased its new SUV the XC90. It will soon be arriving in showrooms and dealerships have begun accepting bookings. Volvo has now announced that its SUV has witnessed tremendous demand.
Volvo claims that their XC90 SUV has already received 16,000 booking prior to its official launch. The all-new SUV will be built at their Torslanda facility in Sweden. The manufacturer believes deliveries will commence this spring.
Hakan Samuelsson, President and CEO of Volvo Cars, commented, "These strong order numbers are very encouraging and it shows that customers obviously like what they see in the new XC90."
He further added, "The new XC90 represents the new Volvo Cars and it is the first in a series of new cars to come, as we renew our entire product portfolio in the coming years."
The SUV by Volvo will be powered by a 2.0-litre Twin Engine. It features a supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine, along with an electric motor. This Drive-E power train produces a combined 400 horsepower.
The Swedish manufacturer also offers a twin turbo D5 diesel engine, which produces 225 horsepower and 470 Nm of peak torque. They also offer the D4 turbo diesel engine, which generates 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of peak torque.
Also on offer are two petrol engine options, the first is a T6 supercharged and turbo engine producing 320 horsepower and 400 Nm peak torque. The second is a T5 petrol mill generating 254 horsepower and 350 Nm of peak torque. All XC90 SUV models are paired to 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
