Volvo V40 Cross Country Variant Launch On 20th April
Volvo does not sell and offer a lot of vehicles in India, however, they realise there is great potential. They plan to offer more models and have a wider dealership network in India.
On 20th of April, 2015 the Swedish manufacturer will launch its V40 Cross Country. Volvo will introduce a new petrol variant of this model in India, as they already sell their diesel powered vehicle.
Internationally Volvo V40 Cross Country is offered in two petrol engine options:
- A 2.0-litre inline five cylinder petrol turbocharged AWD, which produces 180 horsepower and 300 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
- A 2.0-litre inline five cylinder petrol turbocharged AWD, which produces 213 horsepower and 300 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
It is unclear which among the two engine options will be offered in India. We believe if only one model is launched by Volvo the V40 Cross Country will sport the more powerful option.
Volvo will offer its complete safety package in its petrol variant as well. The Swedish manufacturer is known for their innovations in vehicle safety and would not cut out features.
Pricing will be crucial for Volvo V40 Cross Country petrol variant, which is expected at INR 30,00,000 to INR 35,00,000 ex-showroom. It will compete with the likes of Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
