Volvo To Export Made In India Buses To International Markets
Volvo, the Swedish automobile manufacturer will export buses that are made in India to international markets this year.
The Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturer is looking to make India an export hub, to feed international markets, and mainly Europe and other developed markets.
According to a statement made by the company, the first set of Volvo buses that will be made in India will be expected to launch in Europe later this year.
The company which has has its manufacturing facility in India, will slowly expand its exports and cater to the needs of other developed markets around the world. At present, intercity buses that are made here are being exported to a South Africa and a few South Asian countries.
Hakan Agnevall, the President of Volvo Buses said, "At Volvo Buses, we are constantly looking at providing maximum value and high quality to our customers across all markets."
"This was a driving thought in starting the Asia Leverage programme; to utilise the efficient engineering and manufacturing expertise in India to meet the demands of other global markets."
