Volvo Planning Increased Sales of 2,000 Cars In India For 2015
Volvo has revealed a 2,000-car sales target in the country for 2015, after achieving sales of 1,200 cars in 2014.
"We have embarked on a promising growth trajectory with a positive YOY growth, making us one of the fastest growing luxury car makers in India. We plan to sell 2,000 cars in 2015 as against 1,200 sold last year," said Volvo Auto India Managing Director Tomas Ernberg at a showroom launch in Mumbai.
Ernberg also revealed that Volvo Auto India is looking at establishing a new plant when sales numbers justify such a decision.
The Swedish company plans on launching 4 new models this year, including the all-new XC90 in September, the good-looking new version that was launched globally last year, and two new variants of the V40.
Volvo Auto India currently sells five premium models in the country: the S80, S60, XC60, XC90 and V40.
The forward-looking company also plans on strengthening its dealership network from 16 to 21 outlets by next year.
