Volvo India Planning To Gain 10% Market Share In Luxury Car Market
Swedish luxury car maker has started taking Indian market seriously from 2015 onwards. Volvo India has launched several of their products in the sub-continent at attractive prices.
Their main competitors globally as well in India are the German trio. Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz are main luxury vehicle offerers and dominate the market share.
Volvo India believes their product portfolio is attracting luxury car buyers. They are anticipating to hold ten percent market share among luxury market of India by 2020.
Currently Volvo India offers the following products:
- V40 hatchback
- V40 Cross Country
- S60
- S80
- XC60
- XC90
As of now Volvo has 15 exclusive showrooms across the nation and plan on expanding soon. The Swedish manufacturer premises to have 20 showrooms in India by 2015-end.
Volvo currently offers its products in India via the CBU route and is exploring options for CKD to make their offerings more competitive. They are expected to take a decision by 2015-end on this issue.
