Volvo Chassis Simulator Also Used To Develop Ferrari & Porsche
Volvo have started using their latest chassis simulator, which will be utilised in development of future products. They are using the world's most advanced Vo-Grade chassis simulator for next-gen products.
The Vi-Grade chassis simulator was previously used only by Ferrari and Porsche. Volvo is the first premium vehicle manufacturer to utilise this advanced equipment for their next-gen vehicles.
Swedish automobile manufacturer can innovate freely with their new chassis simulator. They can keep on changing and rectifying the product even before developing a full-sized concept model.
Dr Peter Mertens, Senior V.P. Research & Development at Volvo Cars, expressed, that they are investing in people, facilities and technology, which will enhance driving experience.
He further added, their aim is to deliver complete control and ease of driving. Volvo will soon provide their entire range of vehicles with better drivability.
The simulator will provide virtual environments for researchers to develop their chassis. It will include Nurburgring, Volvo's secret test facility and several other real tracks and street conditions for accurate simulation.
Currently Volvo offers five luxury models in Indian market. They include S60, S80, V40(hatchback and Cross Country), XC60 and XC90 four-wheelers. Swedish manufacturer will also be taking a call on local assembly soon.
