Volkswagen Polo GTI Most Likely To Launch In India By 2015-End
Volkswagen plans to introduce several new models in India from 2016 onwards. The German luxury car manufacturer is looking at options at launching one new model by 2015-end itself.
The Polo GTI from Volkswagen could be introduced to Indian market by 2015-end. No official announcement has been made by VW, however, they would like to introduce a new model this year.
Currently Volkswagen offers the Polo GT TSI(petrol) and TDI(diesel) models in the country. The Polo GTI will be its older sibling with more performance and oomph factor.
Here are the technical specifications of Polo GTI model:
- Engine: 1.8-litre four cylinder, turbocharged petrol
- Horsepower: 188
- Torque: 320Nm
- Gearbox: 7-speed DSG with AWD
German automobile manufacturer will be introducing Polo GTI via Completely Knocked Down route. It will look more or less similar to Polo GT that is on sale in India, with minor cosmetic changes.
In India Volkswagen Polo GTI will compete against Abarth Punto Evo. We wonder if more manufacturers could launch more performance packed hatchbacks for the country.
