Bottas Of Williams Fastest On Last Day Of Formula One Pre-Season Test
The final day of pre-season testing has come to an end with surprising results. Everyone knew that the Mercedes engine is a powerful unit and expected the main team to be dominant, just like last year.
Williams and Scuderia Ferrari ended pre-season testing on a high note with a one-two finish. Putting Williams F1 car on top of the timing sheet was Valtteri Bottas, while Sebastian Vettel of Scuderia Ferrari showed his talent and determination in the scarlet red car.
The final test before the season opener was held at Barcelona circuit. Williams have shown great pace during the pre-season testing. Both Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas have been among the fastest drivers in 2015 testing. We will have to wait and see how they fare in a complete race.
It seems like all the teams have caught up to an extent with the Mercedes-AMG Petronas duo of Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. An important thing to note is that all teams used the softest compound tyres available, while Mercedes team used the hardest and medium compound tyres to set their fastest time. This means they could be hiding their true speed.
McLaren-Honda did not have a good outing, their pre-season testing consisted of spending most time in garage due to some failure or the other. Fernando Alonso did not take part in any testing post his accident and Jenson Button was the sole driver testing. The Spaniard, however, promises to be present at the inaugural race of 2015 Formula One.
The first race of 2015 Formula One Championship will commence from 13th of March, 2015 to 15th of March, 2015. It will be held in Melbourne, Australia and it will be interesting to see who wins the first race of this year.
