Volvo Gearing Up 7 New Launches For India In 2016

With 2016 coming up just around the corner, Volvo is giving India not just one reason, but 7 reasons to celebrate as the company has plans to launch 7 models in India in 2016. Not all the models will be new, but facelifts are as good as new too.

So what has the Swedish company got for us in its goodie bag? Here is a look at 7 models that Volvo will launch in India in 2016.

1. Volvo V40 Cross Country

First up will be the Volvo V40 Cross Country face lift. Quite possibly the best looking crossover in India, the V40 Cross Country will receive refreshed bumpers, headlight and tail lamps, and small tweaks to the interior. The engine however, will remain the same.

Engine: 2.0-litre, 5-cylinder, turbo diesel, 150bhp | 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol, 180bhp

2. Volvo V40

The second model will be the Volvo V40 hatchback, again to receive a facelift. The V40 will receive similar changes as the V40 Cross Country, which include bumpers, headlights, tail lamps, and the front grille. Engines too, will be carried forward from the current models.

Engine: 2.0-litre, 5-cylinder, turbo diesel, 150bhp

3. Volvo S60 Cross Country

When the Volvo S60 Cross Country comes to India, it will be the first crossover sedan in India. Based on the S60 sedan, the Cross Country will have 65mm increase in ride height and claddings around the bottom of the vehicle.

Engine: 2.4-litre, 5-cylinder, turbo diesel, 178bhp

4. Volvo S60 Polestar

Now that's a very welcoming sight - the S60 Polestar. Polestar is the performance arm of Volvo. like how AMG and M are to Mercedes and BMW. The performance oriented S60 will receive refreshed bumpers, sports seats, and revised engine.

Engine: 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder, turbo petrol, 345bhp

5. Volvo S90

The Volvo S90, the company's flagship sedan will make it Indian shores as well. One look at the car and there are literally no words to explain how stunning the car looks. The S90 is basically the luxury sedan version of the XC90 SUV, and there could be a lot of similarities in the interior.

6. Volvo XC90 Excellence

Volvo is ready to bring two versions of the XC90 SUV to India, and one of them is the XC90 Excellence - a luxury version of the standard SUV that will compete against the Mercedes-Benz GLS and the Range Rover. The XC90 Excellence will have a four-seat configuration with massagers, touch screen monitors for passengers at the rear, refrigerator option, and cup holders with heating and cooling option.

7. Volvo XC90 R-Design

The second version of the XC90 will be the R-Design. The Volvo XC90 R-Design will come with revised and sportier front and rear bumpers, twin exhausts, larger wheels compared to the standard model with low profile tyres, and silver accents on the exterior. The XC90 R-Design will be the sporty model of the SUV.
