Toyota Discontinues Etios Liva Sportivo Owing To Demand
Toyota Etios Liva Sportivo has been discontinued in Indian market owing to low demands. The Japanese automobile manufacturer had introduced it as a special edition to improve sales of their hatchback.
Sportivo Edition of Etios Liva was developed with inputs from Toyota Racing Development. The Japanese automobile manufacturer was offering their special edition only in the V trim option.
Etios Liva Sportivo was powered by a 1.5-litre engine, which produced 89 horsepower and 131.99Nm of peak torque. Unfortunately, this engine attracted higher duty costs, which affected the pricing of this hot-hatch.

Designers provided Etios Liva Sportivo with a sporty body kit, special edition badge and racing decals across the body. Toyota made sure that their hot-hatch looked noticeably different from the regular hatchback.
Toyota Kirloskar Motors currently offers their Etios Liva hatchback in both petrol and diesel engine options. Both models have four trim levels for customers to choose from in Indian market.
Currently, only Volkswagen India offers their Polo hatchback with a performance oriented engine. The Polo GT TSI and TDI will witness tough competition from soon to be launched Abarth Punto Evo.
Etios Liva Sportivo was more compact in terms of size compared to competitors. This could be one of the many reasons that could be accounted for discontinuation of an otherwise solid vehicle.
