Tata Motors To Provide Indian Army With 6x6 High Mobility Vehicle
Tata Motors has secured a deal with the Indian Army to provide 1239 vehicles. The Army demands 6x6 high mobility vehicles with material handling cranes.
This is one of the biggest orders that a private Indian OEM has received by Indian Army. Tata Motors will indigenously develop this 6x6 high mobility all terrain, AWD vehicle.
The Army has been trying out the vehicle for over 25 months, they have been simulating conditions and using it under maximum power. Tata Motors vehicle had to go through a torture track at Vehicle Research and Development Establishment.
Tata Motors 6x6 high mobility vehicle can be customised for various applications:
- Common Gun Tower (CGT)
- Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL)
- Missile Firing Unit (MFU)
- Missile Service Vehicle (MSV)
- Field Service Vehicle (FSV)
- Short Range Surface to Air Missile (SRSAM)
- Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile vehicle (QRSAM)
- Low Level Quick Reaction Missile vehicle (LLQRM)
- Medium Recovery Vehicle (MRV)
Mr. Vernon Noronha, Vice President, Defence & Government Business, Tata Motors Limited expressed, "We at Tata Motors are extremely proud to have bagged the single largest order, among Indian OEM's from the Indian army, for the most technologically advanced High Mobility Load Carrier system ever built here in India."

As leading suppliers of mobility solutions to the country's security forces, we will shortly commence delivery of these high-mobility vehicles".
