Vinod Sahay, head of sales and marketing for intermediate and medium and heavy commercial vehicles at Tata Motors has resigned and is currently serving his notice period with the company.
The 30th of June will be his last day at work with the company. Taking his position will be Rajesh Kaul, business head of CV, LCV & SCV Cargo.
There have been many executives who have left the company over the years but Vinod Sahay's resignation will be the company's first high profile executive from the commercial vehicle section who has put down his papers.
A spokeswoman from Tata Motors has confirmed the resignation of Vinod Sahay. He will take up a position with rival, Mahindra, but not in the same commercial vehicle segment.
A Mahindra spokesperson confirmed that Sahay will join Mahindra Two Wheelers as the company's Chief Operating Officer, from July onwards.
Sahay, who has more than 15 years of experience in the automobile industry, played a huge role with Tata Motors, like heading the bigger truck division and also leading several other strategic initiatives of the commercial vehicles business unit.
