Official: Tata's Upcoming Hatchback To Be Named 'Tata Zica'
Tata Motors has revealed the official name for its upcoming hatchback kite as the 'Tata Zica'. Tata Motors had recently revealed the sketch of the upcoming hatchback a few days ago, which was known by the name 'Kite'.
The Tata Zica hatchback will be the third product under Tata's HorizoNext campaign, after the Tata Zest and the Bolt. The Tata Zica will be placed above the Nano and below the Bolt, and will compete with models such as the Maruti Suzuki Alto, Hyundai Eon and the recently launched Renault Kwid.
Powering the Tata Zica will be a choice of two engine options: 1.05-litre, three-cylinder diesel engine that is expected to produce around 67bhp, and a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that is expected to produce around 84bhp.
The Tata Zica will make use of a new suspension system, which is a conventional non-independent, twist beam axle that is seen on most of the modern hatchbacks in the country today. Tata Motors decided to go for this suspension setup since the fully-independent rear suspension that was introduced with the first generation Indica was not accepted well with customers.
DriveSpark will be reviewing the Tata Zica next month. Stay tuned for our review.
