Tata Kite And Lionel Messi Feature In New TVC With Teasers
Tata Motors on November 2, 2015, announced Lionel Messi is their Global Brand Ambassador. The carmaker has now released a new TVC showcasing its new Ambassador with glimpses of a new model. In the TVC, it is noticeable that the Tata is teasing the new Kite model.
The Kite is a new compact hatchback, which will be placed below the Bolt. Tata Motors is expected to launch this new compact hatchback in the country by 2015-end or early-2016. There is a high possibility that the Kite will be used to develop a compact sedan as well.
Powering the Kite will be an optional petrol and diesel engine from Tata Motors. An all-new 1,005cc, three-cylinder, diesel engine that is being developed exclusively for the Kite. The petrol will be the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder Revotron engine with a modest performance output.
In India, the Tata Kite compact hatchback will compete with the likes of Hyundai i10, Maruti Suzuki Celerio, and WagonR models. The Tata Kite will be a global product and will be introduced in several new markets, hence the main reasons for Tata utilising Lionel Messi as a Brand Ambassador.
In terms of design, Tata Kite will feature similar grille and front fascia on Tata models. The Kite gets design and styling inputs from design studios in the United Kingdom and Italy. Tata Motors is focussing on a design that will appeal to a global market and retain Tata's familiarity.
Pricing of the new Kite has not been revealed and will be done so at a time closer to its launch. We are expecting Tata's new compact hatchback to cost within the sub Rs. 4 lakh ex-showroom segment in the Indian market.
