Tata Dharwad Plant Wins National Energy Conservation Award
Tata Motors is an innovator in several sectors, the Indian manufacturer has won several awards over the years. Bureau of Energy Efficiency has now awarded Tata Motors another award. Tata's Dharwad Plant has been awarded National Energy Conservation Award for 2015.
Dharwad Plant of Tata Motors has achieved twelve percent reduction in energy consumption. Several initiatives have been adopted by the Dharwad Plant to reduce energy consumption. They have managed to reduce high speed diesel and power consumption at their plant.
In an attempt to reduce High Speed Diesel, Dharwad Plant adopted low temperature degreasing chemical for Aquence Chemical Coating. The nozzles for Powder Chemical Coating and Aquence Chemical Coating were also modified. Paint Shop was modified with hot water circulation system.
Power consumption was reduced in the following manner at Tata's Dharwad plant. The chiller unit in the paint shop was relocated outside. Portable compressors were used in the paint shop for body colour change. Variable Speed Drive for blowers in BIW Shop were installed.
Tata Motors is extremely proud on receiving the National Energy Conservation Award by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. Dharwad plant is their attempt at making their facilities greener and more efficient. Several energy efficient practices will be adopted in almost every Tata plant.
