Suzuki Motors Lay Foundation Stone At Gujarat Facility
Maruti Suzuki has a long list of products on offer in India. They contemplate on launching more new an interesting products for the market. Their recent products the Celerio and Ciaz have been an instant hit with customers. To cope with rising demands the manufacturer has to set up additional facilities.
The Japanese manufacturer is setting up its new facility in Gujarat, India. This new facility will be owned by Suzuki alone. There were issues earlier regarding ownership of this new facility. Suzuki's top panel had discussion with its shareholders prior to taking on this challenge.
On 29th of January, 2015 Suzuki Motor Corporation organised the foundation stone laying ceremony. Present at the event was Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Gujarat along with Takeshi Yagi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India and several others too.
Toshihiro Suzuki, Chairman & CEO Osamu Suzuki, commented, "Under the ‘Make in India' program proposed by the Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, we will set up a state-of-the-art production plant here in Gujarat, with high focus on productivity and efficiency."
He further added, "To build our new plant in Gujarat is the opening of a new era for us, and it is the 2nd Suzuki Project in India. New plant will start with the annual production capacity of 250,000. We would like to work together, and supply our products to the people of India and the world."
Suzuki's new facility in Gujarat will not be ready to produce vehicles prior to mid-2017. The Japanese manufacturer has invested approximately 60 billion Yen in this project. It has also been decided that Suzuki will focus on investing in new facilities and MDIL will invest in product development and improving the sales team.
