Skoda Auto has now confirmed that they will be hiking prices of all their models from January 1, 2016. Customers will witness a price hike of almost two to three percent depending on the model. Skoda has not provided a breakdown as to which model experiences how much increase.
Indians planning on purchasing a Skoda vehicle will witness a price hike ranging from Rs. 14,000 to Rs. 50,000 maximum. The price hike will be applicable from January 1, 2016. Skoda Auto will be increasing the price of all models and variants on offer in the country.
Currently, Skoda offers the following models in the country: The Rapid, Octavia, Yeti, and the Superb. Skoda Auto plans to introduce several new models in India next year, with a glimpse of its new range at 2016 Auto Expo.
Skoda too has expressed rise in input cost as a major reason for the price hike in January. The market condition is also changing and a price hike was much-needed claims Skoda India. Foreign exchange rate is also a concern, the Rupee to U.S. Dollar exchange is also poor at this moment.
Other manufacturers like Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki, Nissan, and Datsun have also announced price hikes from January 1, 2016.
