Sebastian Buemi Drives Home The Renault e.Dams To Win Uruguay ePrix
Formula E paddock was present in Punta del Este, Uruguay. The race was contested on December 19, 2015, and is one of the few races held alongside the sea coast. Sitting on pole position for the race was Jerome D'Ambrosio for Dragon Racing team.
The Renault e.Dams Formula E car has been competitive in the previous year and is expected to be a top performer in season two as well. Sebastian Buemi was the best driver for Renault e.Dams securing fifth fast time in the Super Pole shootout.
Sebastian Buemi drove flawlessly to win the 2015 Punta del Este ePrix. The first half of the race was dominated by Jerome D'Ambrosio, however, during the vehicle change he lost out on time and was dropped down to third place.
Lucas DI Grassi secured the second place at Punta del Este ePrix driving the ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport. He was three seconds slower than Sebastian Buemi and was not capable of challenging for the lead by the end of the race.
In the Driver's Championship for 2015-2016, Sebastian Buemi takes the lead. Buemi has secured 62 points and is ahead of Lucas DI Grassi by a single point. Jerome D'Ambrosio is far behind in the Championship with just 28 points down in third place.
Mahindra Racing Formula E Team experienced an estranged race weekend. Bruno Senna experienced a punctured tyre in the opening laps itself, which ruined his race and retired subsequently. Teammate Oliver Rowland driving the vehicle for the first time secured 13th position, which was impressive.
