Renault and Nissan are in a strategic alliance, the duo is sharing platforms to develop products. They will now be investing INR 5,000 crore to boost their facility in Tamil Nadu.
French and Japanese duo are confident of doing well in India. They will now invest this large sum of money to further improve their foothold in the country.
Currently they have an annual production capacity of 4,00,000 units per year, which is divided between Renault and Nissan. With the expansion of their facility they will be capable of improving their export.
Nissan has been pushing its Datsun brand in India as well as in international markets. They will be introducing an all new small car based on the CMF-A platform.
Renault too is working on this small car platform and is expected to launch their version within 2015. It will be their most affordable offering in India and will mark its global debut in India.
The French manufacturer recently launched its first MPV in India known as Lodgy. They will be following it up with the launch of their premium variant known as Stepway. Datsun's most recent launch was their compact MPV named Go+ for India.
