Renault-Nissan Alliance has donated a sum of Rs. 1 crore to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund. Both manufacturers have also set up a dedicated relief fund for employee and flood affected victims in Chennai. Help is also being offered to neighbouring areas that were affected by excessive rains.
Several local NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisations) have been approached by Renault-Nissan offering assistance to flood victims. Special attention is being paid to relief and rehabilitation of Chennai citizens affected by the unseen circumstances.
Employees of Renault and Nissan have also pitched in. Spontaneous contributions from employees have been collected for relief and rehabilitation efforts. All efforts put in by Renault-Nissan Alliance will complement the Government's efforts.
A sum of Rs. 5 lakh has also been donated to the office of Joint Director of Industrial Health and Safety, Tamil Nadu. Renault-Nissan Alliance has also donated money to the Lions Club in their effort to provide relief to flood victims.
Renault-Nissan Alliance has commenced helping victims affected by floods around its facility as well. The donations provided have already been used for offering relief material in Tambaram and Kancheepuram districts. Both manufacturers want citizens of Chennai to return to normalcy.
