Renault Lodgy Stepway To Be Launched In India By 2015-End

French automobile manufacturer, Renault recently launched its Lodgy in India. It is their very first MPV offering within the country. They are expecting the model to follow the success of Duster.

Renault India is now planning on launching a new variant called the Stepway in the MPV segment. The manufacturer had showcased this model at Paris Motor Show.

The Stepway is a more premium and feature loaded version of Lodgy MPV. It will be placed as their flagship trim in the MPV category. Renault India is most likely not going to introduce a petrol engine.

Renault will offer its Stepway with the same 1.5-litre diesel mill. It will further be available in either an 85 PS or 110 PS option. The engine will be mated to either a 5-speed or 6-speed manual transmission.

French designers will provide redesigned bumpers and chrome embellishment on the grille. They will also add a Stepway badge to the Lodgy stating it as a different variant altogether.

Interior is expected to be spruced for a more premium feel. The Stepway is likely to get leather upholstery and will cater to premium family MPV buyers in India.

Pricing has not been revealed, however, we expect it to be priced higher over the top-end Lodgy. It will continue competing with Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Honda Mobilio and Toyota Innova. The Stepway by Renault will have a definite edge over the others though.
