The Kwid is Renault's entry-level car for India, and since its launch, the Indian customers have accounted for over 25,000 bookings. The Kwid is priced attractively at a base price of 2.57 lakh ex-showroom (Delhi).
The Kwid was launched by Renault on September 24, 2015 across Indian market. Now within a month's time, Renault confirms, there is a six-month waiting period for the vehicle.
Currently, Renault Kwid competes with the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and Hyundai Eon model. The Kwid is available in a choice of six variants; each variant is better than the other and has certain unique features over the previous variant.
Renault Kwid is powered by a 799cc, inline three cylinder, petrol engine, which returns a mileage of 25.17 km/l. This engine delivers 53bhp and 72Nm of peak torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
Concerning safety, Renault will be offering the top-of-the-line model with driver-side airbags. The standard version of the Renault Kwid gets front disc brakes, high mounted stop lamp, spare wheel, warning triangle, and two years corrosion protection.
Renault Kwid is the most feature-rich car in the entry-level (Rs. 3 to 4 lakh) hatchback segment. And features such as a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, onboard trip computer, Bluetooth connectivity, along with USB, and AUX makes this kid stand out from the competition.
