Renault Oroch Pickup Launched In Brazil; Is India In Line?
The Renault Oroch pickup has been launched in Brazil for a starting price of USD 15,210 (INR 10 lakh approx.). The pickup has been based on the popular Duster SUV.
In Brazil, it is offered with a choice of two petrol/ethanol engines—1.6-litre engine that produces 110 horsepower and a 2.0-litre engine that develops 143 horsepower. The smaller engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission while the 2.0-litre engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The Renault Duster Oroch pickup is on sale only as a twin cabin model and the utility bed capacity of 683-litres. Renault has plans for offering an automatic variant soon.
The pickup will have three variants—1.6 16V, Dynamique 1.6 16V and Dynamique 2.0 16V. The base model will be equipped with dual airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), 16-inch alloy wheels, power windows and an MP3 player.
The higher end variants will have Media NAV infotainment system, fog lights, 16-inch Gray alloy wheels, cruise control, power mirrors and parking sensors.
So will it make it to India? Well, looking at the Duster SUVs success, it could become a success in India, since presently, only the Tata Xenon and the Scorpio Getaway are choices for customers now in this segment.
