The Range Rover Sport SVR is now on sale in India for a price tag of INR 2.12 crore, ex-showroom. Developed by Jaguar Land Rover's Special Operations unit, it will compete against the Mercedes-AMG ML63 and Porsche Cayenne Turbo S.
The Range Rover Sport SVR is powered by a 5.0-litre, supercharged V8 engine that produces 542 bhp. Delivering this monstrous power to all four wheels is a eight-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters.
The range topping SUV can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 4.5 seconds and goes all the way till an electronically restricted top speed of 261 km/h.
Distinguishing the SVR from the regular Range Rover Sport is a new front bumper with large air intakes, a new grille, flared wheel arches, new rear bumper with built in diffuser and four exhaust pipes, and a spoiler at the rear.
Some of the features in the Range Rover Sport SVR are sports seats, choice of either aluminium or carbon fibre trim and a choice of four interior colours.
Other features include rain sensing wipers, heated rear window and windscreen, and follow me home headlamps.
Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Four Corner Air Suspension and parking aid with camera assist are few of the safety features available on the Range Rover Sport SVR.
