Range Rover Sentinel: The Armoured SUV By SVO
The Range Rover Sentinel has been presented by Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), which is the company's first armored vehicle.
The Sentinel is based on the top of the line standard wheelbase Autobiography and comes with VR8 level certification. This can withstand 7.62 mm high-velocity, armor piercing bullets, TNT blasts and DM51 grenade explosions from above and beneath the floor.
The SUV has a six-piece armored passenger cell made of super high strength steel.
Modifications have been made to the vehicle's Dynamic Stability Control, Ride Stability Control systems, suspension and the maximum payload of the Sentinel is 650 kg.
Other features include an auxiliary back-up battery, split charging system, self-sealing fuel tank, anti-tamper exhaust system, 20-inch alloy wheels with heavy-duty run-flat tyres, fire suppression system and is equipped with an emergency escape system behind the rear seats.
Powering the Sentinel is a 3.0-litre, supercharged V6 engine that produces 340 PS of power and is mated to a 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.
