Porsche Revives 718 Name With Facelifted Boxster And Cayman
oi-Dennis
By Dennis
Porsche has decided to revive the iconic 718 name for the upcoming facelifted versions of the Boxster roadster and the Cayman Coupe.
The 718 badge is a reference to the Porsche 718 from the 1950s which raced in Le Mans with a four cylinder engine. The 718 RSK won its class during the 1958 race.
The 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman will also feature four-cylinder engines with turbos attached for more power and better fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions.
Porsche has also reversed the way the range will be priced, with the drop top 718 Boxster set to be priced higher than the 718 Cayman coupe.
