Nissan India Recall Micra & Sunny For Faulty Engine Switch & Airbags
Nissan India currently offers a range of products in the country from hatchback to Compact SUV and others in between as well. It includes Micra Active, Micra, Sunny, Terrano and Evalia(production halted).
Now the Japanese based manufacturer is issuing a recall for their hatchback and sedan models in India. Nissan will be recalling over 12,000 Micra and Sunny models in the country.
The manufacturer claims there maybe a faulty engine switch, along with airbag issue in both vehicles. Models are not only affected in India, it is a global recall of products for the same fault.
Models in question were manufactured between June, 2013 to March, 2015 in the country. Globally Nissan would be recalling a grand total of 2,70,000 Micra and Sunny models.
Authorised Nissan dealerships will change the faulty engine switch free of cost for customers. They will also take care of the faulty airbag as well, which was provided by Takata.
This recall is expected to further hurt sales in India for Nissan, who are currently not doing so good in the country. They recently introduced optional driver airbag for their Datsun models as well.
