Nissan India Aims To Achieve 300 Dealerships By 2016

Japanese automobile giant, Nissan has two brands on offer in India. They currently offer Nissan and Datsun products within the country. The manufacturer recently launched its Datsun Go+, India's first compact family wagon. It has been priced attractively at INR 3,79,642 ex-showroom, Delhi.

Nissan currently sells both its brands from a single showroom. There is no separate showroom for Nissan and Datsun. The Japanese manufacturer currently has decent market presence in India. They recently inaugurated their 160th showroom in the country.

They plan on introducing separate showrooms for their brands as they cater to different customers. Nissan officials confirmed this will not be possible for the next five years and will continue to sell products side by side in the same showroom. Datsun was to launch three products in India along a timeline, they have already launched two and the third is expected by 2017.

Nissan India also plans on increasing its dealership network in the country. The Japanese manufacturers goal is to double their network by the end of 2016. They will inaugurate showrooms in smaller cities and towns for a wider reach to its customers.

Top officials confirm that Nissan will cater to major cities and focus will be more on their products. Datsun on the other hand will be prioritised towards smaller cities and towns. They will be offered in major cities of India as well, however, they will not focus heavily on this aspect.

Currently Nissan offers two hatchbacks in India, the Micra and Micra Active. The Japanese manufacturer also offers a sedan model called Sunny. They also offer a MPV and compact SUV in the market named the Evalia and Terrano respectively.
