Hyundai New Elantra Coming To India During 2016

Hyundai is confident on launching several new and updated vehicles in the Indian market. For 2016, Hyundai Motors plans on updating its Elantra premium sedan. The manufacturer has planned to launch a new product every year up to 2020.

The new Elantra will be introduced in the Indian market sometime during mid-2016. The updated Elantra by Hyundai Motors was recently showcased at the 2015 Dubai Motor Show. Interior and exterior of Elantra will be updated in several markets for 2016, including India.

Under the hood of 2016, Elantra will be two petrol and a single diesel engine option. On offer will be a 1.6-litre VGT CRDi diesel engine, along with a 1.6-litre GDi petrol and 2.0-litre MPi petrol engine from Hyundai. The Elantra engine will be mated to an optional 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

2016 Elantra will be locally manufacturer at Hyundai's Chennai facility. The premium sedan is most likely to be showcased at 2016 Auto Expo. Hyundai India will be showcasing a few concepts along with several other soon to be launched models at the upcoming motor show.

Hyundai's all-new Elantra will take on the likes of Volkswagen Jetta, Chevrolet Cruze, Skoda Octavia, and Toyota Corolla Altis models in India. We expect the 2016 Elantra to be priced higher than its predecessor. Starting price of Hyundai Elantra could be Rs. 14.5 lakh ex-showroom.
