Mini is known for their small cars and compact vehicles over the past years. They have now decided to work on a two-seater sports car as a concept vehicle.
They had showcased a Superleggera concept at 2014 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Mini had displayed this model in Italy and is now reporting that they will be putting it into production soon.
Mini Superleggera was revealed as a concept in 2014 at Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Now the manufacturer has confirmed that they will commence production soon.
The design of Mini Superleggera is smooth and flowing. They have maintained the signature headlights up front. Fog lamps do look a bit out of place and production model could get better and cleaner grille design.
The two door Mini Superleggera looks smart and stylish from its side profile. It is a two-seater and has an unique looking windshield, we are hoping production model could also get all these features. Mini has paid special attention to the alloy wheels of this model.
The rear end looks stylish and has a protruding fin like aerodynamic structure in the centre. Mini Superleggera also sports an aerodynamic rear diffuser. Taillights look like the Union Jack and would be a great addition if added to production model.
Here is an aerial view and even from this angle Mini Superleggera looks fantastic. We look how the fuel-filler cap has been provided upfront on the left quarter panel. It is most likely that the design could be altered for a more simplified look.
Interior will be premium and luxurious as always. Exclusive leather will be used, which can be chosen by customers. Overall dashboard design will be simple and will be similar to that used in Mini range of vehicles.
This is the concept Mini Superleggera and the vehicle means lightweight and that will reflect in overall design of this model. Bare minimum for least possible weight. We are expecting this model to be an excellent handling vehicle.
We really do like the rear taillights that has been inspired form Union Jack. This is one of the design elements that stands out and Mini will try and introduce it in their production model as well of Superleggera.
Currently no details of engine have been announced and Mini could use one of their existing engines. They will, however, re-tune and try to extract maximum power output for their model. Do let us know if you would like Mini to bring this model to India as well once it is launched.
